Now that my life is back in order...and I have time to do things I love...I have been scrapbooking like crazy! I love it. It makes me happy to get my pictures out of folders and onto pages. What good is it to take them...and store them?!? Never getting to look back at what you've done and how far you've come.
---
I take thousands of pictures and would hate not doing something with them. I love having a fun way of documenting our lives and the growth of my son, Jaxson.

As promised...I would love to help and answer questions. I've received many e-mails in the past few days...so I thought I would address them here!
For all to see:)

First,
I use Photoshop to scrapbook. The most important thing is having a program that allows you to work in layers. I know there are many ways to scrapbook out there...site and programs that have layouts pre-designed for you to plop pictures into...sites that lay out your book for you, etc. Photoshops is an extremely difficult program to run! It was really intimidating for me...and I still know about 1/10th of what it's capable of! I just research and ASK about one particular thing I want to learn...and when I master that...I move on to the next trick I want to learn or achieve.
----
I prefer to design my own pages from scratch. I love "The sweet Shoppe" for cute Digi-scrapbook stuff. They have a sale every Saturday and you can get cute kits for cheap. It's also easy to download FREE scrapbook stuff...so everyone can do it. No matter what.
---
My style is having TONS of layers. Each page I do usually has 30-40 different layers I'm working with. The more on the page...the more I like it:) It's just my personal preference! I also love bright colors...and fewer pictures on the page so that the ones you DO place can be bigger and easier to see. As you can tell from my pages below...I hate empty space. The more embellishments (for me) the brighter and more fun to look at. Depending on the theme you are scrapbooking, of course.
---Although I usually take 40-50 pictures of each event...I only choose my favorite 3-6 to put on a page so you can see each of them better. They are bigger and the focus is on your best/favorite photos from the activity or holiday.
---
I think JOURNALING is so important. Almost every page I do journals a little about the pictures. I also date, even if it's just the month and year, each page I do no matter what. It's so important...because the entire reason to scrapbook is to look back later and document! 15 years from now you'll want to remember how old your children were...what time of year it was...and what traits they had!
---
I love to direct some of my Journaling right to Jaxson...hoping that someday HE or (his wife) will love to look back at his life as a little boy:) I love to describe to him what we're doing...what things he's learning and/or accomplishing...because we all love to look back at his growth!
---
I threw these pages together over the weekend while watching movies with my husband.
Talk about multi-tasking:)
...Keep the questions coming....
Side 1
